Introduction: Maybe there is no god?

"Maybe we could entertain the possibility of there being no God. But if there is no God, then how do we explain morality? Morality is like a square-circle argument: we can comfortably look at a square and confidently state that it is not a circle. However, to do this, we must have some idea or concept of what a circle is. The same applies to morality. In order to know whether something is moral or immoral, we need an external reference point—a standard by which to measure morality (God). Without this external reference point, all we have is our own opinions. And when it comes down to a matter of opinion, there is no right or wrong—just merely one preference versus another." For example without morality Hitler could not wrong, in his killings of the Jews it would just be your own pointless opinion.
